“It takes A VILLAGE to raise a child.”

WELCOME TO OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We will do our best to answer all of your questions before you ask, but please feel free to ask.
When are you open?
We are open from 6:30am-5:30pm

Where are you located?
We are located in the Treyburn Community in South East Indianapolis. For the safety of the children in our care, we do not give out our exact address until you've scheduled your first appointment with us. All appointments are scheduled after hours while the daycare is closed. I hope that all parents understand us taking this precaution.

Do you accept CCDF?
We do! Please contact us for further information!

Are you licensed?
Yes. We receive 4 surprise inspections a year from Family and Social Services and the Department of Education's Food Sponsor. We are CPR trained, educated in safe sleep practices for infants, trained extensively in child development and drug tested, TB tested, background checked and finger printed.

What is your education background?
I have two bachelor degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University and my CDA. I take 20-40 clock hours of child development classes every year.

What will my child do while in your care?
We have a schedule for each age group. We offer a comprehensive curriculum for each group that focuses on developmentally appropriate activities. If you choose to have your child in our care for preschool, they will learn everything they need to know to start kindergarten. We teach them how to write their name, colors, shapes, numbers, letters and their sounds and so much more, but most importantly, we teach them how to get along with their peers, how to use their words to let others know how they feel, how to sit and listen to a story, and how to feel empathy towards others.

Can I call or text during the day?
Absolutely! You can call or text at any time, but texting usually works best because the kids can be very loud.
Are you breastfeeding friendly?
Yes! We have been trained in the safe handling of breast milk and encourage each family to choose what is best for them.
Is food included in your program?
Yes. We have made it our mission to serve children healthy meals and snacks every day. We believe that in order for a child to succeed, their bodies must be fed foods rich in nutrients. Our menus are always posted for all parents to see. We also have inspections to ensure that we are serving the appropriate food, following the licensing guidelines and are within our adult/child ratio.

How do I enroll?
You can fill out the form on the "register" tab, call and leave a message or text at the number provided, or email us for more information or to schedule a meeting.

What if I don't need childcare right now?
We will hold a spot for 6 weeks with a non-refundable 2 week tuition deposit. This money will go toward the first two weeks of attendance, but will not be refunded if you choose not to use our services.

Can my child be at the daycare while they are sick?
No. We do not allow children to stay at the daycare who have illnesses that will affect other children. We do allow children into our care who have minor colds. Please consult us if you are not sure whether you should bring your child or not.

What is your vacation policy?
You are not required to pay me while I am on vacation (3 weeks per year). You are allowed 1 unpaid week of vacation (with a 2 week notice) and all weeks that you miss after that, you are required to pay. We are closed on all major holidays. If you are a teacher, please ask about our teacher policy.

How many times have you had to close for personal reasons?
If I have to close because we are all sick, I will give as much notice as possible. It does not happen often. I do not take caring for your children so you can go to work lightly. I know that your livelihood depends on having reliable care for your children.

Which holidays are you closed?
We are closed on all major holidays, which includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and day after, President's Day, MLK Day and the entire week of Christmas (counts as one of my weeks of vacation).

Do I still have to pay when my child does not attend?
Yes. You will pay the agreed upon weekly rate (full time or part time) regardless of how many days they attend child care (unless it is their week of vacation).
We do have a different contract for teachers and staff of Warren Township schools and parents who are on maternity leave. Please ask us about this before enrollment.
