Why Is Parenting So Damn Expensive?

Real Talk for Real Parents – A Village Childcare Blog, Episode 4
You sit down with your budget, and the math never seems to add up. Groceries, wipes, shoes your child outgrew in two weeks, snacks, so many snacks, and don’t even get me started on diapers. Then tuition hits like a truck.
You’re not trying to cut corners. You just don’t understand why every single thing costs more than expected and somehow still doesn’t include half of what you need. If you’ve ever asked, “Why am I paying this much and still sending in wipes, snacks, sunscreen, AND craft supplies?” you’re not alone. You’re just parenting in a system that wasn’t built for working families to thrive.
We see you stretching every dollar while trying to give your child the best.
You shouldn’t have to choose between quality care and financial stability. You shouldn’t have to pay tuition, send in nap mats, pack a lunch, bring diapers, and buy a theme-day outfit all before 8 a.m. That’s not how we do things here.
At A Village Childcare, we are intentionally all-inclusive.

We don’t believe in nickel-and-diming parents with hidden fees, supply lists, or daily surprises. Here’s what’s included in your tuition at A Village Childcare:
Diapers
Wipes
Formula
Bottles
Healthy, whole-food meals and snacks
Nap mats and bedding
All craft and curriculum materials
Enrichment activities
Holiday parties and extras
Open communication
Peace of mind
Literally, the only thing you need to bring is a change of clothes. That’s it.
And here’s the kicker: we don’t upcharge for this. We plan for it. Because it’s not “extra” when it’s what your child needs to grow and thrive. It’s the bare minimum, and we do it right.
We’re not just trying to make your budget happier; we’re trying to make your life easier.
You shouldn’t have to remember to pack seven things every morning just for your child to be comfortable. You shouldn’t be guilted into paying more just to make sure they don’t miss out. And you definitely shouldn’t have to question what, exactly, you’re paying for.
Transparency matters. So does value. We believe when you pay for childcare, you should receive care, not just supervision, but real support. For your child and for you.
Because parenting is expensive.
But it shouldn’t feel like a constant uphill battle.
